Angels Love

Sitting in what I thought was the relative safety of my mind a gem glows a brilliant shade as I conjure thoughts of you. I daydream of the accusing tone of your voice and the telling curves of your body. The softness of your lips and the brash uncontrolled tempest of your anger. The thought of your love so pure and hate so true. A man staggers somewhere starving and lost through the landscape of my hearts only calling and pleads with you for the nourishment of your loving. "Why can it not be given?" I ask myself, searching your eyes for the answer. Within their beauty a ship sets sail, christened with the name "Angels Love" it travels for distant shores and far away dreams, only to be lost at sea, destroyed by the leviathan of another's fury. I climb from the depths of my psyche and look into the mirror, only to see the one who can never again be with you... And I mourn my loss.

Hmmm... I seem to have written an incredible amount of material on this little girl. Being as the Meliscia poem is at least partially about her and it was about seventy pages before this one. Well, love is grand ain't it? The basics of this one are somewhat transparent I do believe, but then again most of my writing is like that. This was one of the few that actually had a note to go with it. I woke up in the middle of the night after having a rather detailed dream of my current girlfriend and the ex that this poem is about (who happened to be best friends at one point in time) getting in a brawl. Believe it or not, this poem was less about wanting to be with her and more about wanting to forgive and be forgiven.
